Leopoldo Pagotto is a partner at FreitasLeite Advogados focusing on antitrust and anti-corruption and advises clients in several industries, such as banking, telecommunications, IT, mining, shipbuilding, car manufacturing, infrastructure, and pharmaceutical.
Besides being ranked by Chambers & Partners in the category “Compliance” (2022), Leopoldo is an approved Anti-Corruption & Compliance private practitioner by the Latin American Corporate Counsel Association (LACCA). He was considered to be one of the ‘40 under 40’ by the Global Investigations Review in the category internal investigations (2014 edition). Leopoldo has also been recognized by Chambers and Partners as a foreign expert in competition law and M&A for Japanese clients. He has written several papers and made several presentations on antitrust and anti-corruption, lecturing regularly about these topics in Brazil and abroad.
Currently, he is the Senior Chair of the Anti-Corruption Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA) and External Consultant of GVEthics. After holding several other positions in the Ethics Tribunal of the Brazilian Bar Association, São Paulo Chapter, Leopoldo was reporter for the Chamber No. 20 and the Chamber No. 1.
As part of his pro bono activities, Leopoldo seats on the Advisory Board of Instituto Adus, a Brazilian NGO focused on supporting refugees or victims of forced migrations in São Paulo, Brazil.
